Massage therapy has numerous physical and mental benefits. It releases tension and pain in muscles, improves circulation, increases flexibility in the joints, improves athletic ability, and reduces mental and physical fatigue. In addition, massage is one of the most effective means available to combat stress.
Your massage at Courtsports Athletic Club will be given by a trained professional massage therapist who is nationally licensed. Non-members are welcome and are encouraged to use the sauna, spas, and other facilities. Drop-ins are always welcome when space is available, however; we recommend scheduling the appointment 24 hours in advance. Our Therapists are trained in a wide variety of massage techniques, including but not limited to:
v Swedish Massage: Addresses stress and tension, for overall relaxation. Uses medium pressure and varied strokes for a relaxing massage.
v Deep Tissue & Injury Treatment: Uses very deep, slow strokes to effectively lengthen and relax muscles. Addresses chronic pain, headaches, stress & tension, and injury. Requires communication with therapist.
v Sports Massage: Addresses one or two specific areas of the body to prevent injuries or facilitates recovery of stressed or overused muscles, tendons, and ligaments. A variety of techniques are utilized to increase range of motion.
v Trigger Point: Utilizes direct pressure to relieve specific areas that are tender or hypersensitive, resulting from overuse or injury.
v Myofacial Release: Addresses the entire muscle structure and surrounding area to improve the lasting effects of the massage.
